I am a 'people' photographer based in Romsey, Hampshire.
As a photographer it's totally natural to me
that I should find myself working on Weddings and Portraits.
I prefer a natural and relaxed approach to wedding photography
as with baby and child portraiture. I first discovered my love
of people as a bedraggled backpacker on the South East Asia trail where
I filled several sketchbooks
of colour crayon drawings of the beautiful and varied people I met.
My first professional photographic job
was in a make-over studio where I learned make-up and lighting techniques.
My job at that time was to create beautiful images - not with models but
anyone who came along so it was an excellent training ground for my future with
brides who want to look stunning in their photos. Apart from Wedding Photography my great passion
is portraits of babies, children, families and pets. All children and animals are beautiful
and what a pleasure it is to capture that beauty!
I have been
working in Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire for five years and have
become very familiar with
some of our stunning local wedding venues such as Chilworth Manor,
Rhinefield House, Mottisfont Abbey, Botley Grange, Lainston House,
Hotel du Vin, Wilton House,
Elmer's Court, (pause for breath) Romsey Abbey (of course), Westover Hall,
Trafalgar Park, Beaulieu Abbey, Highcliffe castle, New Place, Essebourne Manor,
Carey's Manor,Longwood Shooting Lodge, Montagu Arms and various other locations.
I most often attend weddings in Winchester, Southampton, Salisbury
and The New Forest but have often
travelled further afield.
There are many ways to describe
styles of wedding photography - candid, relaxed, reportage,
storybook, informal, natural but my style is 'natural and relaxed' with a strong element of fun.
The formal groups will be there as before but with natural smiles an no stiffness.
This also applies to pictures of children whether in the studio or on location.
Children love to be busy and distracted and they are happiest in their home environment.
Wedding and portrait
Photography is not the job for everyone. We often battle the weather,
problems with timing and any unforseen hiccup. The best I can do for you is to
work quickly and without fuss to achieve the best wedding photography you have ever seen.
There are usually two of us at a wedding. We will never arrive from a previous wedding or rush your wedding to get to another one. I will take all the time I can to do a great job and never attend more than one wedding per day.
